#BenueUnderAttack: Nigerians Condemns Killings, Calls on Federal Government to Proffer Lasting Solution
Not less than 36 residents have allegedly been killed in Shikaan Mbagena Kpav community in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State what seems to be like an attack from some unknown gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen who stormed the community in the early hours of Thursday, May 27 and slaughtered the victims including some students of the College of Education, Katsina Ala.
So many Nigerians, celebrities and inflencers have taken to their social media platforms to condemn the killings as many are currently trending the hashtag #BenueUnderAttack, noting that the rate of insecurity in the country keeps increasing on a daily basis and at quite an alarming rate.
Some has called on the federal government, state government, local government and other influential well meaning Nigerians to seek solutions to the incessant killings going on all over the country.
Niollywood actress, Kate Henshaw who also took to her Twitter handle to condemn the killings, wrote;
“Much as I am trying to focus on other things.. The images of bodies lain on the floor in huge numbers has dampened my spirit somewhat.. Why does life mean nothing in Nigeria? To our rulers?? Too much blood shed….too much, God #BenueUnderAttack”
