Breaking News! Central Bank of Nigeria has extended the deadline for replacing old naira notes

Till February 10, 2023, the Central Bank of Nigeria has extended the deadline for replacing old naira notes with the new ones.
This was revealed by the CBN in a statement on Sunday.
In order to facilitate the collecting of additional old notes, the apex bank announced “a 10-day extension of the deadline from January 31, 2023, to February 10, 2023.”
According to CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele, this is the case.
Until February 17, 2023, known as the “grace period,” Nigerians would still be able to deposit their old notes directly with the CBN, he added.
Numerous Nigerians and organizations have put pressure on the government to extend the old notes’ validity beyond the original expiration of January 31.
