Google Changes Doodle To Mark Earth Day Today: Here’s All You Need To Know About Today
American technological gian t, Google has changed its doodle for today in order to mark Earth Day celebration.
April 22 of every year is a day set aside to mark Earth’s Day and the theme of this year’s celebration is “Restore Our Earth” as this year will mark the 51st anniversary of this special day.
Earth day is set to create awareness of environmental problems, critical issues facing the earth such as deforestation, global warming, pollution, bush burning, conservation, among others.
It is also a time where many communities, schools, industries, gather together to clean up litters, river clean ups, removal of invasive plants in the environment, planting of trees and flowers as well as showcasing the raw beauty of nature.
This year’s theme “Restore Our Earth” focuses on natural processes, emerging green technologies and innovative thinking that can restore the world’s ecosystems. And therefore, the theme also rejects the belief that only mitigation and adaptation are the ways to address climate change.
On this day, panel discussions, workshops and special performances that focus on “Restore Our Earth”, to cover natural processes, emerging green technologies, and innovative thinking that can restore the world’s ecosystem will be held too.
Some expected areas of discussion in most seminars and conferences marking Earth Day include climate and environmental literacy, climate restoration technologies, reforestation efforts, regenerative agriculture, equity and environmental justice, citizen science, and cleanups.
The day inspires us to act towards the protection of the environment and focus on the need for conservation and everyone is urged to participate in the movement as well nas contribute our different quotas as we all collectively push for global climate literacy.
