Messi Reportedly Extends Deal at Barcelona Till 2023
Barcelona star and six-time Ballon d’Or winner, Lionel Messi, is reportedly set to end the long speculation surrounding his future in the club by penning a two-year fresh deal with Barcelona.
His future in the club has since been the talk of the transfer market, however, reports in Spain have claimed that Messi has decided to extend his 17-year career as part of the Barcelona first team in which he has won 34 trophies and will soon sign a new deal with the club until the summer of 2023.
Messi is therefore set to ply his trade alongside compatriot Sergio Aguero at Camp Nou for the 2021-22 season, with the former Man City striker joining as a free agent on a two-year deal.
Sergio Aguero was unveiled as a Barcelona player on Monday, having also agreed a two-year deal once his contract at Manchester City expires at the end of the month.
‘We hope to play together, of course,’ Aguero said when asked if his arrival was an indicator that Messi had decided to stay at the club.
