More Wins For Britney Spears as Court Grants Her Right to Choose Her Own Lawyer

A Los Angeles judge has on Wednesday July 14, granted American singer Britney Spears the right to choose her own lawyer as she fights to end conservatorship rights from her father,Jamie Spears.
A conservatorship is granted by a court for individuals who are unable to make their own decisions, such as people with dementia, madness and other forms of mental illnesses.
Spears, 39, has been under the conservatorship since 2008, when concerns over her mental health prompted her father to petition the court for legal authority over his daughter’s life.
Addressing the court over a lawyer’s phone, Britney said, “I’m angry and I will go there, you’re allowing my dad to ruin my life. I have to get rid of my dad and charge him with conservatorship abuse.”
Fans and supporters also rallied outside the court in order to show their solidarity and support for the singer.
Recall that since the inception of the court case, other colleagues such as Madonna, Paris Hilton, have taken to their various platforms to assure Britney of their support.
Following the ruling done in her favour, the singer posted an Instagram video of herself, and wrote:
“Coming along, folks … coming along !!!!! New with real representation today … I feel GRATITUDE and BLESSED !!!! Thank you to my fans who are supporting me … You have no idea what it means to me be supported by such awesome fans !!!! God bless you all !!!!! Pssss this is me celebrating by horseback riding and doing cartwheels today !!!! #FreeBritney”
