PDP Senator Dumps Party, Decamps to APC and Meets With President Buhari
A senator representing Delta North senatorial district in the National Assembly under the auspices of the People’s Democratic Party, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, has dumped the party and decamped to its opposition party, the All Progressive Congress, APC.
Buhari Sallau, a personal assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on broadcast media, made this known in a brief statement on his Facebook page as the senator met with the president on Friday, June 25.
Sallau further shared photos of the senator as he met with President Buhari alongside the national caretaker chairman of the APC and Yobe state governor, Mai Mala Buni, Deputy President of the Senate and lawmaker representing Delta Central, Ovie Omo-Agege.
Recall that on June 23, the Delta State chapter of the PDP suspended Senator Nwaoboshi for one month, over alleged allegations of anti-party activities.
PDP State Publicity Secretary, Dr Ifeanyi M. Osuoza, who announced the suspension, stressed that the decision was taken at the party’s State Working Committee (SWC) emergency meeting.
