Vice President Yemi Osinbajo Presides Over FEC Meeting
The Vice President, Pof. Yemi Osinbajo has presided over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) Meeting today at the Presidential Villa as President Muhammadu Buhari is still in London for a routine medical check-up.
Osinbajo led members to observe a minute silence in honour of former Minister of Commerce and Industry, Late Mahmud Tukur who passed away on Friday in Abuja, at the age of 82.
Permanent Secretary, Ecological Funds Office, Mrs. Habiba Lawal who represented the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha while announcing his passage to cabinet members, recalled his various services to the country.
Tukur served as Minister during the military government of Major-General Muhammadu Buhari.
The Ministers in physical attendance include the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami; Information and Culture Lai Mohammed and Finance, Budget and National Planning, Hajia Zainab Ahmed and Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba.
The Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, Chief of Staff to the President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, National Security Adviser (NSA), Major-General Babagana Monguno (Rtd).
as well as other members of the Council joined the meeting virtually.
At its last meeting on March 31 FEC approved over N19billion for various projects for the Ministries of Transportation, Aviation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
