Manchester United legend and Derby County manager Wayne Rooney, has apologised to his family and Derby after images of him in a hotel room with a group of young women surfaced online over the weekend and has got so many talking.

The 35-year-old apologised to his family over the images on Wednesday evening, July 28.

“I made a mistake,” Derby manager Rooney told Sky Sports after the Championship club’s friendly against Real Betis.

“I went to a private party with two of my friends and from me, I’d like to apologise to my family and the club for the images which were going round and I want to move forward on this.

“I’m grateful to Derby County for giving me this opportunity to get this club back to where it belongs, and I’ll do everything in my power to make sure I do that.”

The Derby County manager is said to have partied into the early hours in Manchester after his side’s friendly game at AFC Barrow over the weekend.

Pictures posted on social media show Wayne’s night out with his male pals, starting in the exclusive Chinawhite club on Saturday night, with one photo showing him chatting to a mystery girl.

Wayne is also said to have invited model Tayler Ryan and her friends Elise Melvin and Brooke Morgan, all 21, into his VIP booth. The pals posted photos posing with England’s all-time top scorer.

It’s believed Wayne fell asleep and was unaware of the snaps being taken without his consent, with the star sitting upright in a hotel room chair with his hands in his pockets.

A video clip of one of the girls joking around and apparently flashing her bum near the Premier League legend has also been viewed over 175,000 times.

In another pic – captioned “no words no papz” – he is seen gesticulating with his right hand while holding a glass of wine in his left.

A snap titled “Sleepy Wayne” features one of the women posing beside him with her tongue out while making the peace sign.

Cheshire Police confirmed on Tuesday they would not be taking action against a complaint of blackmail made by Rooney’s representatives.
